Yoga = Union of body and mind, breath and balance, structure and flow.
Each yoga class is a rigorous and dynamic journey filled with a deep sense of purpose. Expect to be pushed to the edge of your abilities and inspired to reach beyond what you think you can achieve. Our teachers will help you to develop endurance and mindfulness in every way possible. In class, we balance breath and body, heart and mind as well as flexibility and strength. Our main objective is to support you in creating not only a profound mind-body connection but a lifestyle of balance.
Contrary to the popular belief, Yoga is not for the weak, meek nor is it just for the flexible and young. This training is especially suited for everyone and their individual needs varying from injury recovery to professional athletes striving to boost their overall performance. All exercises are adapted to accommodate individual needs, even if you haven’t been able to touch your toes in years!

Classes
Our approach to yoga is Breath-Centric and Healing Focused. That means each class has dedicated breath-work as well as technical "core" work. The central nervous system is directly affected by the quality of our breath. Consequently, learning to breath while the body is in motion develops an overall body-mind connection that increases mental functioning. As a result of the established body-mind connection true healing can occur in the muscle, tissue, bone organ and energy channel.
We use a multi-level platform that allows students to progress individually all the while attending a group class. Furthermore, we encourage strong alignment principals to create the foundation for consistent progression at each level. All classes are mind-body fitness classes and we talk about stress triggers while working them out of our bodies and our daily lives. All teachers are trained with a therapeutic healing touch and respect each student while encouraging them to grow at their own speed.
Here at BodySmith, all our yoga teachers teach the same Hatha Vinyasa Method.

Private Sessions
We equate one yoga private to 20 group classes. Whether you are just beginning and desire more personal attention, if you are injured and need specific help or whether you want to take your fitness skill set to the next level, we specialize in maximizing your strengths by developing your weaknesses. It is in the private classes that you are able to make quantum leaps.

Here are some basic guidelines in a Yoga class:
Be on time. If you are running late, please enter quietly and respectfully.
Do not eat two hours before a Yoga class. Doing poses with a full stomach can make you feel uncomfortable and may even result to nausea or vomiting.
Leave your shoes/sandals/slippers outside the room.
If you are pregnant or you have a health condition or injury, inform your teacher. He / She will be able to tell the poses that you should avoid and the modified poses that you can do.
Turn off your mobile phone or other electronic devices, that can disrupt the serenity of the room, outside the class room before entering.
Be perfume-free. Strong fragrances, scented oils, or fragrant lotions can be distracting for some people in the room. While they may be transformative for you they might disturb another. This is especially true for essential oils such as: lavender, patchouli and sandalwood.
Wear light and non-restrictive clothing.
Respect the space of other people in the class. Do not walk on other people's yoga mat.
Be quiet. Silence is important in a Yoga session. Help maintain the serenity of the room by keeping your voice down. Please, carry all discussions outside the yoga class room.
Take a break when you need to rest.
Do not skip Savasana: The final relaxation pose after every class is very important. If you must leave early please take a savasana before departing.
Never leave the class room during Savasana. If you must leave early please due so before the group is in their final resting pose.
